Everything Coming to the Cyberpunk Universe in 2026

Cyberpunk 2077 may not be getting new game updates, but the franchise has never been busier. Here's everything confirmed for 2026.

Cyberpunk Trading Card Game (March 17)

WeirdCo is bringing Night City to the tabletop with a physical trading card game featuring custom artwork from 20 artists. Characters from both Cyberpunk 2077 and Edgerunners are included — Adam Smasher, V, Panam, Judy, Lucy, and more.

The Kickstarter launches March 17, 2026. Early sign-ups get a free exclusive Lucy "Nova Rare" card.

Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game (Q2 2026)

This cooperative story-driven tactical game for 1-4 players raised over $10 million on Gamefound — making it one of the most funded board game campaigns ever. You play as V, Judy, Panam, or Jackie through over 50 Street Stories offering 40+ hours of gameplay.

The game explores a "what if?" scenario that alters a crucial event from the video game. Slightly delayed from December 2025, it's now targeting Q2 2026.

Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome (Dark Horse Comics)

A four-issue horror/slasher comic series — a first for Night City. Written by Doug Wagner with art by Tommaso Bennato.

The story follows a group of friends encountering something terrifying at a Night City landfill. It's darker and more grounded than previous Cyberpunk comics.

Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk Edgerunners Collaboration

Kuro Games is bringing David, Lucy, and Rebecca from Edgerunners into the Wuthering Waves gacha RPG. Expected to arrive around Version 3.4 with a brand-new map. The announcement teaser featured "I Really Want to Stay At Your House" — a perfect touch.

Edgerunners Season 2 (In Production)

Announced at Anime Expo 2025, the second season is a standalone 10-episode series on Netflix. New crew, new story, same Night City. TRIGGER returns as the animation studio, with Kai Ikarashi directing. Estimated release around 2027.

Project Orion (Pre-Production)

The Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is in pre-production at CDPR's North American studios. Built on Unreal Engine 5, it won't arrive until 2029-2030 at the earliest. Night City reportedly returns alongside a new city with a grittier atmosphere. Multiplayer is a confirmed priority.

What We're Playing Right Now

While we wait for all this new content, Cyberpunk 2077 itself remains excellent. Update 2.3 was the last major patch, and the modding community adds new content daily — nearly 20,000 mods on Nexus and counting.

If you haven't played Phantom Liberty yet, now is the time. With VRR support on PS5 Pro pushing up to 90fps, the Nintendo Switch 2 port for portable play, and the modding scene on PC, Night City has never looked or played better.

The Cyberpunk universe is expanding in every direction. 2026 is going to be a big year for fans of this franchise.
